Yay! It's the first of November! What's the perfect way to kick off the month?
With a November Currently hosted by Farley of Oh'Boy 4th Grade!
Listening
This is a Christian song that I am in love with. It is just a beautiful reminder to us that when our feet fail, Christ is right there. With the hustle and bustle of the holidays that are quickly approaching, I tend to get all caught up in planning, cooking, buying etc. This year, I want to slow down and be mindful of keeping Christ in the center of my busy life. This song has become a gentle reminder for me.
Loving
I'm excited to start a new series in my store! This is the first series that I create where there will be one for each month. It is quite unique in that I'm including 3 different types of literature! Students will get to read informational text, a story and a poem. For October, I created a Bats unit and for November, I have one on Turkeys.
I am already planning for the coming months too! December will be about Reindeer and January will be about Polar Bears!
I'm going to have a big Black Friday Sale and offer the rest of the year in a bundle at a much lower price!
Thinking
Actually, it's more like wondering... where did the year go? 2015 flew by. I can't believe we are already starting the holidays. Soon it will be Thanksgiving and then the madness for Christmas. I'm trying really hard not to stress about Christmas. Stressing about it makes it not fun! I want this year to be filled with fun! I'm going to suggest a calendar of events to my family (siblings and parents) that don't revolve around gifts but revolve around spending time together.
Since the ages of my nieces and nephews vary, I want to do stuff all the kids will enjoy. I've already thought of having a baking night, going out to see the lights and maybe something interactive like bowling. Hope everyone will be up for it!
Wanting
Cooler weather would be great. It's fall but here in Southern CA we are still having 80 degrees weather. There are cute fall outfits just waiting in my closet but it's too hot. Hopefully the start of a new month brings on the start of new, cooler weather.
Needing
More days off! I love the weekends because it's my time to rest and relax a little but this weekend was Halloween and I feel like I've been rushing non-stop. A three day weekend would have been nice. Alas, I will wait for Veteran's Day... which is on a Wednesday, so I get a random day off next week.
Yummy
I am not good at cooking so there will be no recipe sharing from me. When I tried to think of my favorite Thanksgiving food all I could think of was mashed potatoes! I should say creamy, buttery, whipped mashed potatoes with corn on the side. That sounds pretty yummy to me.
That's all for this month's currently. Check back in two days, I'll be blogging about some fun November pinterest finds!
I could use a day off, too! Last week felt so long, and then this weekend flew by! But, it'll be Thanksgiving before we know it, and we'll all have a few extra days to relax!
ReplyDeleteI love the fall season as well so I can understand wanting to wear fall clothing! I live in the south and some days I can wear my fall clothing and some days it feel's like I need to wear short sleeves and shorts (but I don't because we just have bipolar weather).
ReplyDeleteThis year has gone by pretty quickly, hasn't it? The older we get the more it seems like that I guess.
I'm no cook either but I do enjoy some good stuffing/dressing that my mom and aunt's fix around the holidays.
