I'm linking up this month with the Lisa of Pawistively Teaching and Marissa of Inspired Owl's Corner to bring to you some awesome Pinterest finds!
I love that this party is all about Pinterest because I am on there all the time! There are always so many good ideas and I love finding them and actually trying them out in the classroom!
LOVE! I love, love, love this idea. There is so much greatness in this idea. It doesn't seem too hard to make but how awesome is it! The students can punch out a circle a day and have something new to be grateful for. Part of why I love the holidays so much has to do with the fact that everyone is kinder and more caring for these next two months. I think November helps people to realized how blessed we are and that we can find something to be grateful for. I think this is an especially important trait to teach our students.
I remember watching this on Price Is Right as a kid! That game was so much fun that I just know that kids would love this!
I just had to share this picture because it is adorable! In all of my years of teaching first grade I never thought of using a paper bag to create a turkey costume. Duh!!
How cute are those costumes. They seem pretty simple to make! I don't have first graders anymore... but I am definitely going to try this with my nephews that are in kindergarten. (Keep an eye out for them on a future post.)
(Note: There isn't a source of Pinterest to give credit too but I am mighty glad for the teacher that shared this!)
This last pin is so versatile! It's an instant art project plus it can be used for writing! I appreciate when art can be integrated into what you working in class. Kids get to have fun creating and there is some learning involved. For the writing part, students can write about what they are thankful for, Thanksgiving facts or turkey facts.

Those paper bag turkey costumes are precious! That is a great idea! It's very different from the traditional Pilgrim and Indian feast costumes. Thanks for sharing!

DeleteI just love those adorable turkey costumes. They are so cute and festive! I'm sure the kids were so excited to wear them. I've never seen them before either. Very different. I also love the idea of the grateful writing and art project. So important for kids to appreciate what the have and the book is one that kids will love writing and parents will want to keep.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the turkey costumes!
ReplyDeleteThose turkey books are adorable! I love combining art and writing.
