Honestly, February is a tough month to only pick 3 pins because there is so much in this month! We've got Groundhog's Day, 100th Day of School, Valentine's Day, Presidents' Day, and this year is a Leap Year! Would we call it Leap Day? Hmmm?
After a lot of debating I'm going to share with you Valentine Day ideas because I just love to celebrate the holiday!
I am really liking how Pinterest has a ton of Valentine's Day gift ideas that students can give to each other. Instead of getting the traditional store bought ones, parents are kids are getting creative.
My favorite has got to be these S'more Kisses! I LOOOOVE smores! It's got the best combo, cookies, marshmallow and yummy chocolate. The added detail of having a heart shaped marshmallow just won me over! Really thinking of making these for the teachers at my school. But maybe instead of sending kisses, I'll send hugs.
Next up... are these amazing mosaic hearts from Corinna of Surfin' Through Second! You could add a writing component where students write about who they "love to pieces" and why! The best part about mosaics is that students feel successful and there isn't really any "messing up" which students are totally self-conscious about when creating art.
Last, I thought I'd share is a Valentine's Day Mailbox that's really not a box, curtesy of Jessica from Little Pumkin Grace! Every kid needs one if they are going to be exchanging cards. I search high and low for the easiest idea! There are some elaborate boxes out there! Some time consuming, kids-can't-wrap-a-box, and how-do-you-cut-a-rectangle-on-the-side elaborate boxes! So when I saw this idea...a Valentine bag, I knew I had found a winner! In this picture you slip the card in through the mouth which still requires some skill.... but if you didn't want to cut, it's a bag...just drop it in from the back! Easy, cute and tear-free (a tear-free teacher that is.)
