July Currently

I love July! There is no better way to kick off the month than linking up with Farley of Oh'Boy 4th Grade's Currently!

Listening

I am listening to Best Day of My Life! Do you have a "live life" song? This is my current "live life" song. I always like to have a song that peps me up and reminds me to live life! So many times, I can easily get caught up in day to day activities and don't take a moment to just enjoy life. So listening to my "live life" song reminds what a blessing my life is and that I need to appreciate it fully. It really works at getting me to remind me to make memories!

Loving

I love that it's summer time... there are so many things to do... or not do! For example I get to have lunch with friends and not have to worry about a recess bell. And I don't have to set an alarm! All such wonderful perks of being a teacher! When I was in high school and choosing a career... summer breaks was definitely a factor!

Aside from that... I love the weather. It's my favorite. I like being warm! I like going swimming. Living in CA surely does spoil a girl.

Thinking

Vegas!!! I can't wait. During my college years, my friends and I partied in Vegas at least once a month! I might be a gamble-aholic! My favorite game is Craps! It is so much fun to play. Usually, the table is surrounded by men/guys and they're always surprised when I start shouting out my bets. A girl that knows craps well is rare.  If want to learn and are going to Vegas, look me up and I can teach you!
Craps is not the reason I am so excited about Vegas though! It's the Teachers Pay Teachers Conference, of course! I didn't get to go last year and was sooooo bummed that I swore I would make it this year.  I am going to admit I'm a little nervous.  I can become a wall flower in big crowds. So I am hoping I can remember my "live life" song and just go and have fun.  I am looking forward to meeting great people and learning so much.

I made a list of things I want to accomplish so that I can feel like this trip was a success. Some are fun like take a picture with Deanna Jump. Some are social like introduce myself to 5 strangers. Some are work oriented, of course. I have 2-3 questions for each session. I will probably get the answer during the presentation but if not, I plan on being brave and raising my hand.

Wanting

I don't think I need to explain this one! We all want to look good in Vegas! Cute and comfortable will be key when I go shopping these next few days!

Needing

Well my little TpT store: A Grace-Filled Classroom has 918 followers! What?!

I don't know when it will reach 1,000 but I'm only 82 followers away! So I need to start thinking of a cool and super fun giveaway.  If you're a first -third grade teacher follow my store! I always put my products at 50% for the first 48 hours!

All Star

This kind of goes with why I love summer...
Hello, my name is Laura and I am all star at lounging! Yup! Just sit-on-the-couch-in-my-pj's-and-do-nothing lounger! Ok... maybe I'll put on clothes. Shorts and a loose t-shirt, which is basically the same as pj's ...haha!

Lounging, to me, could be done anywhere. On a beach chair, at the pool, on the couch, in bed...basically it consists of me...doing hardly anything... with little on the itinerary.

So that's it for me? Are you going to Vegas? What are you most excited about?

If you'd like, head over to Farley's and link up!

  2. I found you on the July linky! I am SOOOOO jealous that you are going to Vegas. I was so bummed last year not to be able to make it and then it just wasn't in the cards this year. I can't wait to read everyone's blog posts about it though :-) I love your "live life" song. That was a song my students wanted played over and over again last school year. When you mentioned that song it made me smile and think about my awesome class. Have a great time in Vegas!
